Welcome to Fur
Fur covers an area of 22 km2. The island offers riches of different and distinctive land- scapes and numerous opportunities for nature experiences. A range of hills from east to west rises distinctively on the northern part of the island with steep slopes towards the inlet Limfjorden.
If you want to be sure to see all Fur’s attractions, it is a good idea to follow the network of paths of 12 km, which starts from the house, Emmelstenhus, on the northern side of the island. Along the steep slopes of the northern coast, there are rich opportunities for studying the moler with dark stripes of volcanic ashes.
It is also here that there are opportunities for finding fossils: fish, birds, insects, plants, etc. Read more |
